Richard Kramer is a leading voice in the disability sector, having been a key player in the field for over 20 years, and is of course best known for his role as the CEO of Sense and Sense International, for which just like JLGB, Lord Michael Levy is their President.

Having graduated from Liverpool University with an LLB, and as a qualified solicitor, Richard made the decision to go into the charity sector and has had an incredible impact ever since. Richard has worked for a range of organisations, including managing the parliamentary operations of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations during the landmark Disability Discrimination Act of 1995, and leading the campaigns department of MenCap, a pioneering Learning Disability and Autism charity.

In 2002, Richard started working at Turning Point, a social enterprise organisation seeking to support individuals with learning disabilities, and worked there for over 10 years, holding an array of roles including working with service users in the design and delivery of disability services across England.

After joining Sense as the Deputy Chief Executive in 2013, Richard was appointed as the CEO in 2018, and works tirelessly as he seeks to change the national conversation on disability, so that it is more inclusive to those with more complex disabilities.

Working with some of the most vulnerable in our society, and therefore by their very nature, some of the most hard-hit by the lockdown, Sense has been leading the way in providing support to the disabled people during this time. And so we are incredibly grateful that he has found the time to join us. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome tonight’s very special guest, Richard Kramer.

For 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
